Old Headmasters House – St Helens – The

The Old Headmasters House at St Helens offers Victorian accommodation on Tasmania’s east coast. The delightful home is set amongst rose gardens in the heart of St Helens.
It features a luxurious French bed and bedroom. There are three queen size rooms, all with a private en suite bathroom. The house is furnished with antiques, creating a wonderful ambience of yesteryear.
Relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the rose garden. Enjoy a swim in the heated pool, opened in August 2013. In the morning your most difficult choice is what to choose from the breakfast menu including a compote of seasonal fruits from local growers, muesli, creamy Greek yoghurt, fresh milk, free-range eggs, home-cured bacon, bratwurst sausages and fresh field mushrooms. You may also want to sample St Helens Bush Honey on your morning toast. Your hosts are happy to be your personal guide around the area and will point you in the direction of popular destinations including St Columba Falls and the Pyengana Cheese Factory. Head to the Bay of Fires where you will enjoy far-stretching pristine beaches. In the evening, dine on local seafood at a nearby restaurant or make use of the barbecue and outdoor verandah.
St Helens Point is about 2 hours’ drive (170 kilometres/105 miles) from Launceston.
