The Shipwright’s Arms Hotel offers accommodation in Battery Point, in Southern Tasmania.
‘Shippies’ as it is known to the locals, was established in 1846. Situated in the heart of historic Battery Point, it is a short and picturesque stroll to the bustling shopping, dining and cultural precinct of Salamanca Place, the Hobart waterfront, Parliament and the Central Business District.
We offer comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation, with four air-conditioned double ensuite rooms with television and five double budget rooms with shared facilities. Self-serve Continental breakfast is included. There is a private guest laundry and a small sun lounge with television.
Our steak and seafood bistro is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. Bookings are essential. There is a separate menu for the public bar with daily specials.
Our comfortable function rooms are the ideal venue for that special lunch or dinner for up to 50 people.
The English-style bar (built by a shipwright) features Tasmanian timbers. It has a unique collection of Tasmanian and maritime memorabilia. A log fire keeps it cosy in winter. In summer, relax in our sail-shaded beer garden.
Battery Point is a five minute drive (2 kilometres / 1 mile) from Hobart.
