On the ground floor of Salamanca Wharf Hotel is the relaxed dining room of Castray Esplanade Food + Wine. The menu focuses on showcasing Tasmanian ingredients, while the drinks list offers the state’s finest wines and beers. The fitout is funky – it’s sparse and industrial and the wide-windowed frontage means the dining space is filled with light. Breakfast is a healthy affair and you can’t go past the smell of bread baked in-house. At lunch, charcuterie, salads and cheeses are for nibbling while an array of more substantial meals are on offer for the hungry.
