Hi George offers bed and breakfast accommodation in the heart of Launceston, northern Tasmania.
Hi George overlooks the city streetscape with views north down the Tamar River. The original building was built in circa 1860 and today the accommodation has a unique blend of historic ambience and modern comforts. Each of the five rooms is appointed with a comfortable queen-size bed and en suite bathroom. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms and you can enjoy a cooked/continental breakfast in the breakfast dining room. Off street parking is provided at the rear of the building and you can walk through to the city restaurants and shops from here.
Plan an afternoon exploring the Tamar Valley, tasting some of Tasmania’s finest cool climate wines and stopping off at roadside stalls and orchards along the way. You can also explore Launceston on foot by picking up the walking trail nearby that runs along the bank to the Esk Railway Precinct and back through Boags Brewery and Old Launceston Seaport. Stop for a coffee by the water before making your way up to Cataract Gorge. Here, you can enjoy a chairlift ride over the gorge and beautiful surrounds.
