Gullhaven

Gullhaven is a self-contained holiday home on King Island, 80 kilometres off Tasmania’s northwest coast. The house is located in the seaside town of Currie, on the Island’s western coast.
The spacious house has two queen bedrooms and two twin-share bedrooms. There is a fully-equipped kitchen, separate bathroom and laundry. Gullhaven has an extensive library and even an easel for the artistically inclined.
Gullhaven has easy access to beaches, walking tracks and lookouts. You can visit Australia’s only kelp factory, where bull kelp is gathered and processed to create a range of products; taste cheeses at the King Island Dairy; or try the Island’s fine beef, game and crayfish at the local pubs and restaurants. King Island is also home to an abundance of wildlife, including a major colony of Australian Fur seals.
King Island lies in the path of the Roaring Forties, the westerlies that circle the world’s southern latitudes. Australia’s worst maritime disaster occurred off King Island in 1845, when the Cataraqui sank. The Cape Wickham lighthouse – the tallest lighthouse in the southern hemisphere – still sits at the Island’s northern tip. You can explore the island’s most important historic sites on the Shipwreck Trail.
