Located in Tasmania’s central highlands, Great Lake is Australia’s second largest freshwater lake and is a mecca for anglers. The lake provides a significant amount of Tasmanias hydro-electric power. There is accommodation and a camping area at Miena, on the southern shore. Other basic facilities including boat ramps are sited at Tods Corner and Breona. Access to Great Lake is on the A5, via Deloraine in the north or via Bothwell or Bronte Park.
