As a Community Service Project, City of Devonport Cub Scouts have been collecting non-perishable food items for the past 10 years to pass onto Devonport’s Gran’s Van Association. The goods have been used to help the homeless and hidden poor of Devonport via Gran’s Van mobile food van and hampers.
Our collection day this year will be Sunday July 28th outside Coles Devonport from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All we ask is that community members purchase some canned or non-perishable grocery items and donate them to our Cub Pack who will hand them onto Gran’s Van.
Prior to this day, donated items may be left at Jega Bodycare, 8 Edward Street, Devonport.
Public assistance in this program is appreciated as we impart to the Cubs about the value of citizenship and how to give back to their community.
