Built around 1860, the Grainstore now offers quality bed and breakfast accommodation in Deloraine, Tasmania. Built from locally quarried bluestone the original purpose was storing wheat, which was a very valuable commodity in the early colony.
Ron and Helen Tweedale purchased the property in late 2004, and have spent five years preserving the original heritage of the building, whilst re-creating it’s interior to become a beautiful contemporary home, which still maintains some of the industrial characteristics.
All the rooms have elegant ensuite bathrooms – with either shower and separate bath, or walk-in shower, with lots of fluffy white towels for your comfort.
The rooms are ultra-quiet and spacious, with comfortable leather lounges, flat-screen LCD television, and superb beds with quality white linen, soft woollen doonas, and Tasmanian lambswool throws.
We provide quality teas, freshly ground filter coffee, fresh local produce, home-made goodies and fruit to indulge you.
We can offer a king-size room, twin king singles room and queen-size room. A single bed can be made available in any room for AUD50 (includes breakfast) and a cot is available at no charge.
Deloraine is approximately thirty-five minutes’ drive from Launceston (50 kilometres/31 miles).
