A Common Ground

If you’re looking for a shop where you can find bucket loads of unique Tasmanian produce, housed under one roof, then A Common Ground is it. Hiding under the stairs at Salamanca Arts Centre, this gem was created by Gourmet Farmer Matthew Evans and friend Nick Haddow, who owns Bruny Island Cheese Co. Apart from the fantastic cheese and pork products (Mathew also raises rare breed pigs and turns them into sausages and bacon under the Rare Food label), you will find the likes of seasonal preserves and windmill-ground flour, sustainably raised salmon and barrel-aged cider vinegar. The range changes with the seasons.
