Montacute Boutique Bunkhouse is a boutique hostel in the heart of Hobart’s historic Battery Point. Owned and run by local Hobart couple, Montacute is just 5 minutes walk from all of the restaurants, bars, pubs, cafes, galleries and shops of Hobart’s famous Salamanca Place and waterfront precinct.
To stay at Montacute is to be welcomed into the home of Ant and Rose, together with their daughter, Eve, their Miniature Australian Bulldog, Lily, and their fluffy tortoiseshell cat, Mrs. With everyone sharing the large communal kitchen, dining room, lounge, balconies, deck and garden, guests all become part of the big Montacute family.
The house itself is a luxuriously furnished and beautifully restored 1895 mansion.
Montacute offers private queen rooms, private two bed bunkrooms and shared four bed bunkrooms.
All beds have a quality inner spring mattress, crisp cotton sheets, warm duvet/doona, soft woollen blanket, fluffy towel, reading lamp, powerpoint and free Wi-Fi. In the style of a traditional hostel, no rooms have ensuites. Bathroom facilities include private shower cubicles, private toilet cubicles and bathrooms with a shower and a toilet.
Montacute also has a coin-operated laundry, a large free car park, and bicycles available for hire.
