Alexandra on Battery provides comfortable private accommodation for short stays in the Hobart suburb of Sandy Bay. We are minutes to restaurants, shops and beaches. Buses pass by to University and City.
Accommodation includes bedroom with garden and Mt Nelson views, a queen size bedroom with bathroom and separate toilet, sitting room with television and DVD plus complimentary Wi-Fi. There’s a bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, microwave oven and toaster, as well as adjoining laundry facilities and off street car parking.
Situated across from Hobart’s early defence system, Alexandra Battery is now a visitor lookout to the majestic River Derwent. We have great bush walking tracks and one leads to Signal Station where one can enjoy refreshments and spectacular views to Bruny Island and Possum Bay. Cultural attractions within four kilometres include spectacular Music, Arts and Gourmet festivals with special events and conferences hosted throughout the year, whilst renowned MONA, State museums, galleries and craft shops in Sullivans Cove and Salamanca Place are open daily.
Owners live in adjoining premises. We are expats who commuted between Melbourne and Hobart for years working in the theatre and film industry and love living on this beautiful island.
