The Nut Chairlift

The-Nut-image

Visit one of Australia’s most iconic and scenic locations. The Nut Chairlift is the perfect way to reach the summit of The Nut, the iconic plateau, a volcanic plug which juts out into the sea above the coastal town of Stanley, Tasmania.

Take a leisurely chairlift ride up to the top and soak up the incredible views and explore the plateau. Superb photographic opportunities await.

The chairlift traverses a distance of 250 meters and rises 95 meters. The mechanism was designed and manufactured in Austria to maximum safety and comfort standards. What’s great is that the chairlift provides access for those who can’t walk to the top.

Enjoy the circular walking track of approximately 2 kilometers which takes you around the summit to several viewing platforms from which you can see east and west along the dramatic North Tasmanian coastline.

There are bathroom facilities, disability access and picnic areas with gas barbecues as well as a friendly cafe where you can enjoy a warm bite to eat and great coffee.
