Urquhart Keep (1876) Open Day—Fundraiser

  • aa

On Sunday, 10th November, we will be opening our historic home, ‘Urquhart Keep’ to the public. ‘Urquhart Keep’ was formerly the Bank of Australasia (1876). The first Bank Manager was Mr Donald Urquhart. ‘Keep’ is a Scottish word for safe/stronghold – as the vault remains in the house, we decided to name the building ‘Urquhart Keep’.

The funds raised through donations and a raffle will be equally divided between Orana Respite Care Centre, Strathdevon, Rubicon Grove, Meercroft Care, Karingal and Melaleuca Home for the Aged. Hopefully the funds will assist the organisations with their imminent staff/resident Christmas Functions. We encourage everyone to take the time to wander through the house and garden in the main street (Gilbert Street) of Latrobe.

Please note, we have chosen Sunday 10th November, however if it is wet, we will postpone until Sunday 17th November.

Kind Regards Mike and Mel Gaffney
