- Steamfest 2020 (7th , 8th ,9th of March)– Tasmania’s industrial and agricultural past, SteamFest returns for its 26th year. As always, the big steam engines star, including a train doing rides every half-hour, and a steamroller – who will win the kids v steamroller tug-o-war? Watch the Grand Parade at 3.00pm, the Lighthorse demonstrations and bullock team at work. Less steamy highlights include pony rides, blacksmithing demonstrations, tractor pulling, a horse works and 100-plus stalls offer arts, ,crafts and food. Of course there’s a steampunk costume competition, with daily judging and great prizes. Come dressed in a Steampunk Costume and you will receive a discounted entry price. Too good to miss.
