The 2016 Lunar New Year Festival preparations are well underway as the Year of the Monkey approaches.
There will be festivities all throughout February but the main event will be held on the Parliament House Lawns, Parliament Square, Salamanca Place in Hobart on Sunday 7 February 2016 from 10:00am – 4:00pm.
Come and celebrate the Year of the Monkey. There will be lots of food, entertainment, cultural displays as well as lots of activities for the whole family to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Chinese Lanterns will light up the night and traditional adornments will bring vibrant colour and an incredible atmosphere to the Parliament Lawns and other locations around Hobart.
There will be Lion dances, 2-metre long fire crackers, performances by many Asian communities, dragon boat displays and a wide variety of food.
